This book is the first comprehensive review of the arts and architecture of Bosnia and Hercegovina. It deals extensively with the history of architecture in Bosnia and Hercegovina, the state of the architectural heritage before and during the war, the various arts which decorate and enrich this architecture. It also contains a list of the hundreds of manuments which have been destroyed during the war. 'Using many pictures and diagrams of mosques and churches, Pasic shows how architectural themes flowed between Christian and Muslim buildings. The physical evidence gives weight to the author's contention that Bosnia's various confessional groups communicated peacefully and productively throughout the organisation of their public and private space.'
